How To Create WiFi Hotspot On Windows (XP, 7, 8, 10)

WiFi Hotspot, An easy way to share internet connections from smartphone,  laptop, computers. Sucked? How Can I Create WiFi Hotspot in my Windows PC? Don't worry, In this post you will learn about creating WiFi Hotspot on Windows Laptop/Computer.

Specially this trick will be useful for laptops. When we have internet connection on laptop/computer and want to share that connection through Hotspot then this trick will be useful.
In android there is preloaded function to share your internet connection, with that you can create WiFi hotspot in a click. But It will be little hard to create WiFi Hotspot in windows laptop/computer because there is no preloaded function to create WiFi Hotspot on laptop.

I am going to share two methods to create hotspot on your windows laptop/ computer.

Using  Connectify to Create WiFi Hotspot on Windows 7, Windows 8, Windows xp, Windows 10 PC

Connectify software is mostly used to create hotspot on windows pc. It required Microsoft .Net framework 4.5 or later. If you have Microsoft net framework version lower than 4.5 then install it at first from here. Now download and install Connectify software .

• Run it and it will ask to restart your PC, restart it. Only in pro version you can set your own WiFi name else leave default and enter your password and hit Start Hotspot button.

 You just have trail version of 2 days. If you are unsatisfied with connectify  then use others tools.

Here are alternatives to Connectify, You can use any of them to Create wifi HotSpot on your Windows Pc.

1. Ostoto Hotspot : A free, without ad software to change your PC to wifi router. It was paid software named 160 WiFi but now its completely free.
2. MyPublicWiFi : Free soft to switch your laptop to WiFi Router having advance functions such as url tracking. You can keep track and record all url visited from your Wi-Fi.  You can use this software on your windows 7,8 32bits or 64bits.
3. Baidu WiFi Hotspot : Best tool to create WiFi hotspot on your windows PC. It have one extra ordinary feature, you can easily share files between connected devices. It will not hang your computer and completely free.
or use 2nd Method, which is mentioned below.

Manually Create Hotspot on Windows PC (Without any Soft)

If you think, why to use software or why to pay if we can do it manually for free, then here are the steps to make/create WiFi Hotspot on your Windows Laptop/Computer.
Open Command Prompt, to open it press Windows Key + r  and type cmd and hit Enter.

• Now Type netsh wlan show drivers and hit Enter.

Search Hosted Network Support, If it is yes as shown as given snapshot then you can create WiFi Hotspot on your windows machine.

Creating Hotspot on windows 8 using CMD

Now test completed its a time to create WiFi hotspot on windows7, 8 or XP.

1. Open Command Prompt as Administrator. Go to C -> Windows -> System 32  Right Click on cmd.exe and click on Run as Administrator.
2. Type following command and hit enter.

netsh wlan set hostednetwork mode=allow ssid= tricnp key= tricnp123

• I used tricnp as WiFi name and tricnp123 as WiFi password. You can change it. But remember your WiFi password must be greater than 8 digits.
• We had already set our WiFi hotspot name and password on our windows PC, its a time to start WiFi Hotspot. Run the following command to start your WiFi hotspot.

 netsh wlan start hostednetwork

Using CMD to Start WiFi Hotspot on windows

Now we did it we Created WiFi Hotspot you can view it from mobile. But internet is not shared via WiFi hotspot yet,

1.  Exit command prompt and Go to Control Panel -> Network and Internet ->  Network and Sharing Center, In left side You will See Change adapter setting click on that.
2. Now right click on your internet connection and select properties.
3.  Switch to Sharing tab and check Allow other network users to connect through this computer's Internet connection. and mention newly created hosted network and hit Ok.

Congratulation you did it, but how will you stop sharing your newly created WiFi Hotspot? Its very simple Mate just run the following command in Command Prompt.

 netsh wlan stop hostednetwork

WiFi Hotspot Stopped.
