How To Hide Apps on Android (without Rooting)

Android Phone is being popular day by day. We store most of private data on different apps such as SimpleNote, and we want to protect those data stored on apps. Some apps have function to protect data with password lock or pattern lock but we need more privacy or want to hide that app.

There are lots of softwares available on play store which will lock app with password, pin, or pattern lock. But you know what, when some people such as Girlfriend/Boyfriend/Friends/Parents ask you to unlock it, simply you need to unlock it and your private data exposed... What if app is hidden completely, which is invisible for others and only you can see it. This is what I am going to discuss on this post. Some people say you need rooted mobile to hide apps but in this post we will hide apps on unrooted android phone.

How To Hide Apps On Your Android(No Root) Without Using any Apps.

Some Mobile has function to hide apps, Specially Intex, Micromax, Samsung have function to hide apps. To hide app on your unrooted android device follow these steps:

1. Go to Home Screen and press and hold on blank space(Not On widgets)
2. You will see New Screen at the bottom you will see Show/Hide click on that.
3. Now all apps will be shown tap on apps that you want to hide.
4. Done! Now apps is hidden.

Actually this is not function of mobile, Its the game of Launcher. Most of Intex, Micromax budget mobile use Launcher3 as their default launcher. If you have pre-installed Launcher3 then you don't have to use additional software to hide apps. If not follow Second method to Hide Apps without Rooting.

Hide Apps With the Help of Other Apps on android without Rooting

Okay, If first method didn't worked then you don't have to worry. Here is universal trick to hide apps on almost every mobile app. Lets follow these steps:
1. Download Apex Launcher from Google PlayStore
2. After installing, go to Apex settings and then go to Drawer Settings.

3. The first option you would see is Hidden Apps.
4. Mark/Check the Apps you want to hide and just click save and you would not see these apps in your Smartphone until you again unhide the Apps.

So this is the universal trick to hide apps in your android smartphone Without Rooting. There are other alternatives to Apex Launcher such as Nova Launcher but you should spend some bucks to use it.

How to View Hidden Apps on Android Without any Apps?

So if you think your friend's mobile has hidden file then how will you check it? Or want to use hidden apps on your mobile without unhiding it? No worry mate its simple to view all hidden apps on android smartphone.

1. Go To Setting -> Apps

2. Tap in Downloaded

3. You will see all apps which is downloaded on that device.

5. Now finally tap on Go To App

6. Done, app will be opened!

If your friend know this trick then he will be able to view your hidden app on your smartphone. So protect app with pattern before hiding. If your friends found hidden app then he will not able to use it because of pattern lock. You can use 360 Security, Clean Master etc to lock app with password/pattern protection
