Although android is top operating system for smartphone, battery draining has been problem on android specially on budget android phones.

We always want to get maximum from our battery so we use different tricks to save our battery, before few months I posted about How to Increase Battery life of android smartphone
These tips will help you to increase lifetime of battery but today we will discuss about introducing battery low notification on android.

No matters how powerful your battery is you must have faced low battery problems. Sometimes our mobile run out of power because we don't notice battery low notification. It is simply because of low quality inbuilt notification system for low battery. The notification sound is low and you cannot customize it when to alert you.

By default you will receive battery low notification on android when your battery is 15 percent or lower. Its too late to charge your phone in most cases. Most people charge phone after batter is lower than 30%.

We will learn to add custom battery low notification system on android so that we can receive notification when our battery is lower than our desired percentage. If you don't have rooted android phone then you don't have to worry this will work even in non rooted android devices.

How to Set Battery Low Notification/Ringtone on Android Without Rooting.

We will use app named Battery Notifier BT Free to set custom battery low notification on android. There are a lots of alternative apps such as Battery, Battery Indicator Free etc but Battery notifier is best because of its advanced features.


  • Open app and Go to Setting -> Low battery charge option.
  • Now tap on Low Battery Level to set battery level. After battery is equal to this level you will be notified. You can customize more notification setting such as Repeat Interval, Sound Mode, vibration mode etc.
  • If you want to add different colours for different battery status then Go to Setting -> Customize Status bar and you can manage different colors for different battery percentage.
