How to Change Color of Folder icon in Windows 7, 8, 10

Good Morning,
You may be bored with Windows costume icon color. or Want to change color of Folder icon just to indicate something special? or simply  Want to change Folder Icon color of your windows Pc? If yes then this post is for you man.

This trick came into my mind after I need to categorize folders. The name was nearly similar so I need to play with icon. I used traditional method to change icon but doesn't looks cool.
Tradition methods to change icon was time consuming also. After that I need different Method  to change color or icon of folder on Windows Pc. As usual I asked Google and got the trick to change color of windows 7, XP, 8, 10 .
So here is the trick.

How To Change Color of Folder in Windows 7, 8, 10 With a Software

1. You Need to download software named Folder Colorizer from CNET.
2. Open the software and and check on I acept the license agreement and click on next.

3. Now Choose installation drive, if you want to install on default drive click on Install Now.

• Now 50 percent work DONE as the main software is installed now you just have to use it!
• Right Click on any folder, you will see new option called Colorize.

• Click on Colorize and Choose your Favoroit color. The effects will be instantly shown. You will Get message of congratulation as shown in given Screenshot.

• If you want to change folder color back to default then Choose Restore Original Color.

Using Folderico to Change Folder Color on Windows

There is another tool named folderico it have wide range of icons. You can download it from its official website. All the methods are nearly same as the previous software you will just see new function named Change folder icon instead of Colorize when you right click on folder.

You can set not only colors but different icons using this tool. You can buy icons if you need more icons. There is a lots of icons in free version so for simple use you dont have to buy it. Simply enjoy advanced features.

Color your Folder icon Without any Software.

If you want to change color of folder without any software then you should follow traditional method. You can choose your own picture as icon so we can use folder icons of different color. Follow these steps to change color  folder icon without any software. This will be effective if you want to use image as folder icon.

• First color or edit your folder icon  using photoshop or paint or any other photo editor.
• Now save it as .bmp image. (With .bmp extension).
• After saving it change .bmp extension to .ico extension and save it let call it color-full-FOLDER.ico.
• Now right click on that folder which you want to change color.
• Go to properties->Customized -> Change Icon

• New window will be opened.
• Click on Browse and choose the image cropped at previous step.

• Now click on ok and click on Apply on previous window.

Done.
