Complete Guide of Nepal Telecom (Namaste) GPRS/3G

NTC -Activate 3G,GPRS
Everyone know Nepal Telecom is top mobile internet service provider in Nepal. Ncell gives a lots of services and cheap mobile data than NTC (Namaste) but many people still use NTC in the name of reliable and cheap. Simply, most of users don't know about data packs so they use data from main balance so they feel NTC/ Namaste is cheap than Ncell. NTC don't have large difference in data pack rate and normal rate. Just slightly lower then normal rate. For more information check data rates of NTC.

Actually I am not going to compare these two mobile internet provider. In this post I am going to teach you everything about GPRS of Nepal Telecom SIM . Broadly speaking, this post can be considered as catalogue for NTC.
In this guide we will discuss about  GPRS/ Internet activation in NTC, Activation 3G in ntc and choosing 3G network in your mobile. Here is the Ultimate Guide of NTC GPRS/3G.

How To Activate GPRS in NTC ( Namaste)?
Unlike Ncell, NTC doesn't activate GPRS service in your sim without costumer request. You can activate GPRS / Internet manually in NTC. Few years back you have to go to Nepal Telecom Office to active internet in your sim/rim but nowadays you can activate it from your own mobile. You just have to send a message.

Before few years there is rumour, 'You can use 3G on any mobile' or somthing like that. At that time most of people use 2G phone and most of them activated 3G (because of rumour). If you just brought new NTC sim or not activated 3G till now then you can activate it for free

Type 3G and send it to 1400
Instantly you will receive message as shown in fig 02.

NTC GPRS Setting:
You need GPRS setting to use GPRS on your mobile.  It is commonly called access point setting. To receive GPRS setting for NTC prepaid/postpaid follow these steps,
Go to message box, create new message type GPRS and send it to 1404 you will receive message save it. It will ask password while installing setting type 1234 in setting. or if you  want to do it manually then follow these steps,
1. Go to Setting->  More -> Cellular Networks -> ( choose NTC if you have dual sim) -> Access Point Names.
2. Click on option (3 Dots at right side of top).
3. Click on New Apn.
4. Name it   ntnet   , set access point name as ntnet
How to choose 3G Network in Mobile?
Well, if you activate 3G and your mobile doesn't support 3G then its useless you will never get 3G speed. If your phone support 3G then you have to choose 3G network to get speed of 3G. To choose 3G network for NTC(Namaste prepaid/postpaid) follow these steps:
1. Go to Setting -> More -> Cellular Networks
2. Tap on NTC
3. Select Preferred Network Type, and choose 3G/2G (Auto) or WCDMA/GSM(Auto-Mode). This will connect 3G network if its available if not 2G network will be used .
If you cannot see Preferred Network Type then go to Setting -> SIM Cards -> Select Primary Card and choose NTC as primary card and follow steps mentioned above.
These things are so basic and not changed since Nepal Telecom started mobile internet (Few functions added)  but when we may need these at any time mostly when we buy new sim. Right? Because Nepal Telecom doesn't provide good catalog for new SIM.
